Maral Jafarian is an Oslo based artist and jewelry designer. Despite holding a degree in textile engineering from Tehran Polytechnic, Maral has followed her passion in arts and design. Interested in women as the central theme for many of her paintings, she uses modern art to express her love for the feminine energy. Inspired by artists like Frida Kahlo and, Gustav Klimt, Egon schiele… Maral’s work celebrates the female spirit and brings out her strength as a mother, lover and a human being.
Maral Jafarian moved to Oslo in 2014. Along with her baggage, she also brought her twenty years of experience as an artist, including group exhibitions in Iran and 9th and 10th painting biennales of Tehran.
After having established her own studio in Fornebu, Maral opened her own gallery in Grunerløkka in 2016 in Schous Plass. She currently holds courses in painting and jewelry design.
